Welcome to Uh Oh Programmer.

I'm PaulJohnny and this is going to be my first blog ever! I am currently a student, trying to graduate and hoping to find an amazing career in the tech industry. I got sucked into the subject while I was trying to figure out how to build a website so I can get into doing SEO. Then I ended up running into app development. That's when I decided to go back to school. I decided that maybe sitting down at a desk all day whipping up some code would be fun. And yes it's all fun until compile time. UH OH! as a list of errors longer than the code, as a long a novel, tells you that you are just bad. Okay, well it's not that dramatic but sometime can feel like it when you just want it to work right.

Object Oriented Programming + the crap feeling something went wrong = Uh Oh Programmer.

Think of this blog as my stress relieving break time from the arduous task of thinking up solutions, smashing the keyboard, all the while sipping on coffee like the caffeine addict I am. Let's talk about not just software engineering, but everything trending in tech. Maybe we'll discuss the latest developments to progressive tech such as A.I. and V.R. while also talking about the latest gadgets. I'll try covering things on web development and internet marketing. Every time I learn anything I will share it with the world. One thing I will talk about for sure, is my journey and progress and how I will encourage others to get into the wonderful world of technology. I'll try to keep it fun, throw in some satire, humor, while keeping it somewhat serious. So, here's to my first blog adventure. Follow me sometime = )

The Workstation: Keyboard

Another episode of The Workstation! Today I'll talk about that one thing you get your hands on the most when your in front of the computer. The keyboard of course! Now if you think they're all the same and it's just a piece of hardware, you couldn't be more wrong. Or you just don't spend that much time working on a computer. When you log in hours upon hours of typing time, you will feel the difference in quality between the keyboards you will come across. Again, what I use isn't that fancy but I've had a $10 keyboard and I've had a $100 keyboard. There is DEFINITELY a difference. Cheap generic general use keyboard vs. Razer Chroma Ornata keyboard (Yes, I know it's an extremely lopsided comparison but it'll help me make my point.) What is OOP

Object Oriented Programming: Part 1 Think of a generic person, place, or thing; any noun if you would. Think of all the details pertaining to this 'object'. What does it look like? Does it have name? What does it do? Those questions and more can be translated into code. The best analogy I have seen to visualize the software design structure known as OOP, is using a car as an example. A car is a class.  A car has a model name, color, fuel type, capacities, etc. These are what would be called class instance variables.  The car also moves forward with the gear in position and the gas pedal pressed. It also can go in reverse and stop when the brakes are pressed. The actions of the car can be described with class methods.
